Job Description
Algoteque is seeking an enthusiastic PHP Developer with experience in development, maintenance, and designing applications. You will manage tools that facilitate the work and reduce bureaucracy for our employees and external collaborators. This job is perfect for someone who dislikes repetitive tasks, enjoys project ownership, grows with the project, and learns new things along the way. If you are a developer who loves automation and process optimization and wants to stay updated with new technologies (latest PHP, Symfony, Symfony UX, Docker, etc.), you will thrive here!
Location: Bratislava (hybrid mode - from time to time visit the office)
What will you do?
Develop and maintain our internal tools and applications.
Develop and manage the company portal and other production services.
Automate processes and handle internal information.
Integrate with external services (ADFS, Slack, GitHub, Jira, Office365, etc.).
You will also work on applications such as:
Employee records (contracts, benefits, education, hardware).
Company portal.
Authentication system.
Localization tool (development using Domain Driven Design).
Access automation and audit.
Attendance system.
Game forum.
And many more!
Required qualifications
Fluent Slovak or Czech language
At least 5 years of experience developing PHP applications.
Experience with OOP at the highest possible level.
Knowledge of MySQL (MariaDB).
Knowledge of frontend development (JavaScript, CSS).
Knowledge of GIT (at least basics).
Active knowledge of Linux (we prefer development on Dockers, ideally on Linux or OSX).
Experience with Symfony and Doctrine.
Analytical thinking, responsible approach, teamwork, good communication skills, enthusiasm for solving complex technical problems.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Redis.
Experience with messaging and asynchronous workflows (Symfony Messenger).
Experience with writing automated unit tests (e.g., PHP Unit, Codeception) or acceptance tests.
Experience with developing larger projects (500+ classes).
Active overview of design patterns, experience with dependency injection, and practice with SOLID style of code writing.
Experience with application development in a Domain Driven Design style.
Experience with hexagonal architecture.
Experience with code review and pair programming.
Attention to detail and active knowledge of best practices in code writing.
