Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Digital Reliability Engineer where you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and scalability of our digital offerings in the fast-paced banking sector. With opportunities to leverage cutting-edge technologies like Kubernetes, Terraform, and Azure, coupled with your expertise in scripting languages and APM tools, you'll lead proactive efforts to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate risks, making a tangible impact on our digital landscape.
- Assess the dependability of our digital offerings, technological services, and the foundational infrastructure supporting them
- Mitigate the risk and repercussions of malfunctions through the development of operational enhancements, such as proactive monitoring, automatic scaling, or self-repair mechanisms
- Address production incidents to acquire firsthand knowledge of operational bottlenecks and to pinpoint the root causes of issues
- Gather and scrutinize operational data, establish and track key performance indicators to pinpoint and communicate areas necessitating improvement
- Utilize a wide array of engineering methodologies with an emphasis on reliability, ranging from instrumentation, performance evaluation, and log analysis to automated testing, deployment, and operational processes
- Ensure the quality, security, dependability, and adherence to regulations of our solutions by adhering to our digital principles and incorporating both functional and non-functional prerequisites
Required qualifications
- Preferably 5 or more years of prior experience in an Application Support capacity within the financial services sector
- Exceptional oral and written communication abilities coupled with robust teamwork skills
- Familiarity with various scripting languages
- Proficiency in Application Performance Monitoring (APM) Tools
- Hands-on experience with Linux Operating Systems
- Understanding of IP networking principles
- Proficiency in diagnosing issues with Java applications
- Familiarity with application and web servers (NGINX, Apache)
- Strong familiarity or practical experience with visualization technologies (Docker, K8S)
- Understanding of provisioning cloud infrastructure using Terraform
- Knowledge of cloud computing principles and adeptness in managing cloud environments (preferably Azure)
- Familiarity with the fundamentals of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
- Commitment to driving automation initiatives aimed at reducing manual repetitive tasks (TOIL)
