Our customers are the most successful industry leaders executing projects around the globe. We are recruiting a Principal DSP Engineer for a Permanent Position with a leading Defense Group.
Job Description
- Design and develop digital signal processing algorithms for processing signals from airborne sub-systems such as, radar, communications, and sensors. This may include filtering, modulation, demodulation, FFT, and other advanced techniques.
- Develop and implement signal processing algorithm for radar seeker to improve target acquisition, tracking, and classification.
- Analyze signal data and simulate real-time signal processing to assess system performance using tools like MATLAB, or Simulink.
- Integrate DSP algorithm into larger systems, ensuring seamless operation with other sub-systems.
- Ensure that DSP algorithms are optimized for real-time processing on embedded hardware with limited resources, such as FPGAs, DSP chips, or GPUs. Optimize algorithms to minimize power consumption and processing load.
- Identify, debug, and troubleshoot issues related to signal processing to ensure proper functionalities.
- Work closely with system engineers to define DSP functional requirements based on system specification.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, including algorithm description, system design description and functional requirements.
- Ensure that DSP algorithms and systems comply with relevant industry standards, such as, aerospace, military, and aviation regulations
Required qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Electrical engineering, Computer engineering, signal processing or relatedfield.
- Strong understanding of digital signal processing fundamentals, such as, filtering, Fourier transform, modulation, demodulation, and spectral analysis.
- Proficiency in advanced mathematics, including linear algebra, probability, and discrete-timesignal analysis.
- Experience in languages commonly used for algorithm development and implementation, such as, MATLAB, C/C++, or Python.
- Familiarity with signal processing tools like MATLAB, GNU Radio, LabVIEW, and DSP development environments, such as, Xillinx Vivado.
- Knowledge of DSP chips, FPGAs, GPUs, or microcontrollers and their integration into systems.
- Hands-on experience in designing, simulating, implementing, and optimizing DSP algorithms for real-world and airborne applications, such as, radar seeker.
- Familiarity with military standards and regulatory requirements related to communications and aerospace.
