About us
ARENGY is an IT-Digital and Engineering Recruitment and Consulting firm operating in the Middle East from UAE. Our customers are the most successful industry leaders executing projects around the globe. We are recruiting a Principal Engineer - Smart Antenna for a Permanent Position with a leading Defense Group.
Job Description
- Design and develop smart antenna systems specifically for airborne applications, considering factors like aerodynamics, weight, and environmental conditions.
- Implement adaptive antenna techniques, such as, beamforming, phased array, and MIMO to enhance communications, radar, and sensor capabilities.
- Develop and optimize beamforming algorithms to enable the smart antenna system to dynamically steer its radiation pattern toward desired targets or communications links.
- Implement direction of arrival (DOA) estimation and spatial filtering to improve signal reception in airborne environments.
- Use simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, CST, MATLAB) to model the performance of smart antenna on airborne platforms, accounting for factors like altitude, speed, jamming, and multi-path signal interference.
- Integrate smart antenna systems with airborne avionics, communication systems, radar, electronic warfare systems, ensuring seamless functionality.
- Develop and conduct tests to validate the performance of smart antennas in airborne scenarios, including flight test, ground-based testing, and anechoic chamber evaluations.
- Develop algorithm for noise reduction, interference and jamming mitigations.
- Ensure that the smart antenna system complies with the aviation and military standards and regulations.
- Prepare detailed technical documentations, including system specifications and functional requirements.
Required qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Electrical engineering, RF/Microwave engineering, or related field.
- Strong understanding of antenna theory and design, including hands-on experience with smart antenna design.
- In-depth knowledge of electromagnetics, wave propagation, and RF theory.
- Experience with electromagnetic simulation and antenna design tools, such as, HFSS, and CST.
- Familiarity with digital signal processing techniques and algorithms, particularly related to beamforming and interference mitigations.
- Proficiency in programming languages, such as, MATLAB and C/C++, for algorithm development, simulation and system modeling.
- Experience with RF front-end design, including understanding of RF circuits, filters, and amplifiers used in antenna systems.
- Experience with RF and antenna measurement tools, such as, network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, and anechoic chamber for testing antenna performance.
