Job Description
As part of our development, we are looking for a Ramp Leader to safety, efficiency, and excellence in the Boeing Dreamlifter Operations in Nagoya (Chubu, Japan), and to represent AES in relations with its partners and customers. The Ramp Leader as a Key Leader Station Manager will guide a dedicated team of ramp agents to pivotal in maintaining on-time arrivals and departures of cargo, while upholding our safety standards and compliance procedures.
Your missions will be as follows.
Supervise operations :
- Lead and guide a team of ramp agents with a focus on teamwork and communication, providing guidance, direction, and support to ensure the smooth execution of operational tasks.
- Actively participate in joint reporting with subcontractors and partners.
- Observe operations, and deliver important updates to the team to ensure the seamless handling of baggage, mail, and cargo from aircraft to airport facilities
- Monitor the operational environment to detect changes that affect safety, promptly notifying leadership as needed to mitigate risks and maintain a safe working environment.
- Comply with all federal, state, municipal, airport authority, and carrier security requirements, ensuring strict adherence to safety and security protocols at all times.
Guide team :
- Ensure personal readiness to conduct safety-sensitive duties at all times, and taking appropriate action, as necessary.
- Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to implement best practices, streamline processes, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
- Support the ongoing training and development of ramp agents, fostering a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team environment, promoting teamwork, collaboration, and mutual respect among team members.
Required qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- High School diploma, or equivalent; 3 - 5 years related work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
- 1-2 years of experience in a Ramp Agent or a similar position
- Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in aviation or airport operations.
- Previous ramp experience a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers both in English and Japan
