To contribute to Europe and Belgium's ambitions for the Energy Transition, we hve foreseen to extend its offshore high voltage grid. The grid shall connect the new Belgian windfarms situated within the "Princess Elisabeth Windfarm zone".
The Project Engineer :
• Reports to the Island Engineer Lead and Island Package Manager.
• Works in a multidisciplinary team together with, amongst others, the Island package manager, lead engineers and engineers, experts, procurements officers, HSE experts, PMO officer, …
• Supports the development of the PEI project during all phases of the island package like finalizing design, construction, and installation.
• As project engineer you will assist the Island Engineer Lead and Package Manager with following tasks:
o Support or lead small engineering studies related to the energy island (e.g. wave impact on smaller structural elements attached to the caissons, environmental studies for the implementation of Nature Inclusive Design elements)
o Administrative support
• Bouwpas (access tool for the construction site) Follow up for personnel.
• Prepare documentation to report project management and technical conclusions.
• Organize island team events to share knowledge within the team and improve team cohesion.
o Leading monthly construction tours for internal and external stakeholders
• Familiarisation with the island construction and installation method and understanding of the specific progress for the different construction steps.
• Inform and explain methodologies and progress in a clear way to different visitors.
o Coordinate between the third parties, island lead engineers and other packages so that the required inputs are delivered in a timely manner.
o Prepare and report on the input required from the Employer to the third parties and vice versa.
Profil recherché
• Highly motivated to be part of an exciting offshore wind project and passionate to contribute to the offshore wind expansion and energy transition by helping to construct a first multipurpose energy island.
• No relevant working experience required only the eagerness to be part of the team and project realisation.
• Education: Engineering (Master).
• Working structured, independent and a problem-solving mindset
• A quick learner.
• Good communication and teamwork skills (used to work in a team and being successful as a team).
• Must have an open and transparent way of communication.
• Excellent MS Office skills.
• Willingness to receive offshore training
