Our client, an important actor in the business travel industry, is looking for his future Business Development Manager Europe.
Job Description
The Business Development Manager is responsible for delivering a complete pipeline solution to meet budgeted revenue and margin targets set for their pipeline through the delivery of effective prospecting growth, long-term partnership development, and engagement plans.
The pipeline plan will require you to pro-actively identify the continuous improvement of prospect quality and revenue performance.
The post holder will contact and secure new business by applying consultative sales techniques and by promoting relevant products and services to achieve maximum profitability.
A typical day might include:
• Efficiently prospecting for potential new clients using multiple channels including cold calls, networking, tender sites, and referrals.
• Preparing concise and effective presentations, proposals, and sales contracts.
• Developing and implementing improvement action plans, tracking results and performance.
• Identifying and delivering customer solutions that build long term partnership opportunities.
• Investigating industry trends and customer data to identify new prospects and revenue streams.
• Targeting product mix changes that maximise on pipeline opportunities and new revenue.
• Active engagement with decision makers and influencers users across the target organisation.
• Delivering the Digital 1st strategy, for example Online Booking and Workflow Solutions.
• Reviewing the prospect profitability as part of the pipeline quality development.
• Partnering with either Service, Tech, Operations or Finance teams to deliver compelling solutions that impact the customer and differentiates the company.
• Routinely tracking activities through the corporate CRM tool and submitting scheduled reports.
This is not an exhaustive list of duties, and the post-holder is expected to carry out any other related duties that are within the employee's skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed to meet business needs.
Required qualifications
The ideal candidate has experience in B2B travel, preferably in a similar role, and possesses foreign language skills (French and/or Dutch). They are energetic, empathetic, and charismatic, with a strong focus on strategic business development and achieving KPIs. The role requires excellent communication skills, consultative sales experience, and the ability to engage decision-makers effectively. The candidate should thrive in competitive markets, be solution-oriented, and excel at building long-term partnerships. Proficiency in MS Office, strong organizational skills, and a proactive mindset are essential. Experience with Salesforce, cross-cultural collaboration, and knowledge of the corporate travel landscape are desirable.
