Job Description
• Acts as liaison between R&D and production site electrical
engineers/maintenance.
• Operates as a member of the global automation team, ensuring
harmonization of electrical design across all global sites.
• Develops and maintains corporate electrical engineering standards,
ensuring alignment with global regulatory requirements.
• Participates in commissioning and supports validation of control
systems; develops accurate time and pricing estimates for control
systems hardware builds; executes test plans to verify hardware
fitness for use.
• Maintains documentation such as electrical drawings, IO lists, and
BOM (Bills of Materials) for globally managed automation systems.
• Supports management in providing a climate that stimulates and
motivates colleagues to participate in environmental preservation and
in protecting the health and safety of colleagues.
• Designs modifications to existing automation systems based on
process diagrams, user requirements, functional requirements, Piping
& Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), and machine mechanical
drawings.
• Collaborates effectively with the global automation engineering team
on development projects, standards development, selection, and
implementation of new technologies and automation systems.
• Acts as a global subject matter authority for all aspects of electrical
systems design and safety.
• Maintains hardware global configuration information and technical
documentation; supports FS/DS documentation and cGMP validation.
• Regularly communicates with the Automation Engineering Manager on
project progress and potential issues.
• Effectively collaborates with plant personnel, providing technical
guidance to electronics.
• Collaborates with external consultants, suppliers, and contractors to
evaluate new technologies and implement electrical projects.
Required qualifications
Strong project development, implementation, and communication
skills; Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Must also be able to manage expectations of clients through
effective communication of project status, obstacles and
opportunities.
• Expert knowledge of, and experience with electrical circuit theory
and control circuit design concepts.
• Knowledge of NEC, CE, OSHA, European and North American
electrical and safety regulatory requirements.
• Must be able to interpret control electrical wiring diagrams, P&ID
diagrams and mechanical assembly drawings.
• Must be able to troubleshoot control electrical wiring while
maintaining personal safety and safety of others.
• Intermediate software engineering competencies including
knowledge of software develop life cycle and common deliverables
such as system requirements. Must be able to develop and
execute robust test plans to verify software quality and fitness for
use.
• Intermediate knowledge of project management processes
necessary to develop accurate estimates of work required for the
completion of software-related projects.
• Must have familiarity with PLC technology and basic understanding
of high level programming languages;
• Must have a basic understanding of Supervisory Control and Data
Acquisition (SCADA) system functionality.
• Must have basic understanding of drives and servo systems.
• Working knowledge of PC's and standard software such as
Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project and the Microsoft
Windows Operating System
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in manufacturing
environment
