Job Description
Pré-requis obligatoires:
Technical education in Chemistry or related.
15 years of experience in the relevant field or related experience (pharmaceutical and nutraceutical excipients and active ingredients).
Principals management experience
Supplier and business development experience required, preferably in a global environment.
Knowledge of pharmaceutical or nutraceutical manufacturing, and regulations
Experience in the procurement of specialty pharmaceutical or nutraceutical ingredients
Business travel across Europe
Role Overview
A fast-growing international company in the health and wellness sector is seeking an experienced EMEA Principal Manager to oversee the Nutraceutical Actives portfolio. This leadership role is based in Europe (location flexible) and is pivotal in developing and maintaining strategic supplier relationships, driving portfolio strategy, and ensuring product competitiveness across the EMEA region
This position requires strong experience in supplier and portfolio management, a solid understanding of regulatory and quality processes, and the ability to work across functions in a dynamic, international environment
Key Responsibilities
1. Portfolio Strategy & Market Alignment
Identify gaps in the current product portfolio in comparison with market opportunities
Evaluate and select potential new principals in coordination with the sales team
Build business cases for new suppliers based on market potential and pricing competitiveness
Negotiate and manage supplier agreements (territory, products, pricing, contract types)
Monitor purchasing vs. market price alignment to ensure acceptable margins
2. Principal Onboarding & Relationship Management
Oversee onboarding processes: regulatory/quality checks, contract setup, and initial training.
Maintain and grow existing supplier relationships through expanded territories, volumes, and product range optimization.
Manage portfolio consistency and relevance (avoid duplicates, identify strategic gaps).
Integrate new product portfolios resulting from future acquisitions.
3. Reporting & Documentation
Ensure consistent and structured reporting to principals, aligned with their strategic importance.
Maintain all relevant principal documentation in internal systems (e.g., SharePoint).
Provide the sales team with tools and updated information to drive product promotion.
4. Commercial & Cross-Functional Support
Act as the main point of contact for all principal-related matters.
Support sales initiatives by developing training programs and promotional tools.
Organize onboarding and refresher training sessions for internal stakeholders.
Required qualifications

Development of a premium Nutraceutical Actives range.
Full ownership and management of the Nutraceutical Actives portfolio (Premium & Private Label).
Effective supplier relationships and consistent alignment with commercial goals.
Enable the sales team through training, documentation, and support.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
Master's degree in Chemistry or related sciences.
15+ years of experience in pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, or active ingredients.
Strong background in supplier development and project management.
In-depth understanding of product development, manufacturing, and regulatory standards in nutraceuticals and/or pharmaceuticals.
Experience in global supplier negotiations and procurement of specialty ingredients.
